If you are like most new caregivers you have probably found yourself in this role suddenly as the result of a crisis that has taken place with a parent or sibling. Caring from across the miles often complicates an already emotionally tenuous situation, but assistance, support and direction is available. Many companies offer Employee Assistance Programs or Work/Life Programs to help employees balance work and life issues. Elder care referral services may be offered as a benefit.
