Accounting Manager

Summary

The Accounting Manager assists the Director of Finance in the management and administration of the accounting activities of the Agency including, but not limited to, monthly reporting and closing, general ledger, payables / receivables, cash receipts and payroll. The Accounting Manager also handles the day to day financial operations of the Agency in the absence of the Director of Finance.

This is a full-time (36 hours per week) position.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field plus 5 years of experience, or 7-10 years of relevant experience. Must have experience managing staff, knowledge of Uniform Financial Reporting requirements as mandated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and knowledge of not-for-profit accounting. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, project management experience, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Must also have experience with federal and state contracts, have the ability to manage multiple tasks, and have a demonstrated knowledge of IT systems.

Required computer skills include proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook and Word; working knowledge of FRX financial reporting software and working knowledge of ADP payroll systems
