Schnitzer Northeast Sponsors MVES Gap Fund
Schnitzer Northeast (formerly Prolerized), a leading purchaser and processor of recyclable scrap metals in the northeastern United States, has stepped forward as a benefactor-level sponsor of Mystic Valley Elder Services’ (MVES) benefit performance of the Sisters of Swing, The Andrews Sisters Story. This is the second year in a row that Schnitzer Northeast has sponsored the event. The performance will be held at the Stoneham Theatre on April 12, 2008. All net proceeds from the event will benefit MVES’ Gap Fund. “Once again, we are pleased to extend support to MVES,” said Colin Kelly, public relations coordinator at Schnitzer Northeast. “MVES continues to offer vital support and services to our elderly that allow them to live independently.” The Gap Fund is an endowment created by MVES that hopes to raise $1 million. The interest accrued by The Gap Fund is used to provide home care services to elders who are slightly above government income eligibility guidelines or who are not considered frail enough for government-supported services.
