AGE-INFO Provides More Opportunity To Connect So much is packed into working hours. Often it seems we can’t get everything done by 5 p.m. during the week. That’s were 1-800-AGE-INFO comes in—to give elders and their caregivers time to talk to professionals during weekday evenings and on Saturday mornings.
MVES applied for and received the contract for the 1-800-AGE-INFO number that people from all areas of the state can call to receive information about elder care. What does this mean to you? If you call after 5 p.m. or on Saturdays, you’ll be talking to an employee at Mystic Valley Elder Services. The AGE INFO team provides information to all residents of Massachusetts and MVES has committed to fully staffing the call center. This commitment ensures caregivers and elders increased opportunity to discuss aging-related issues with trained staff. “We feel honored to have the AGE-INFO contract,” said MVES Executive Director Daniel J. O’Leary. “Our team is available to people in our eight service communities, and across the state, at times that may be more convenient for many individuals…especially caregivers.” The 1-800-AGE-INFO number is funded by Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Elder Affairs and Mass Home Care. During the daytime, callers may choose from an automated menu that includes options such as Prescription Advantage, heath insurance options, and elder protective services. Or, they can learn about elder and caregiver services by being connected to their local home care agency like MVES. During the evening and on Saturdays, callers are encouraged to select “3” from the menu. By selecting “3,” they will be routed to a real person at MVES. “As an agency, we take great care in providing the highest quality information to our local clients,” said Lynn Vidler, AGE-INFO supervisor. “We’re excited to be able to continue that personal service in the evenings and on Saturday to all Massachusetts residents.” Aging-related issues affect us at all hours of the day. If the work day has passed and you have question about yourself or a loved one, please call 1-800-AGE-INFO. The knowledgeable team is ready to help with all of your questions.
