Conference on Caregiving
Caregivers deserve a day just for them! On October 22, that’s what they’ll get in the form of “Caregiving 411.” Sponsored by Hallmark Health and Mystic Valley Elder Services, “Caregiving 411” is a daylong conference dedicated to helping family and professional caregivers.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Malden Catholic High School in Malden. Caregivers can choose between a number of workshops including:
- Navigating the Maze…Making the Right Choices
- Management of Dementia: Pharmacological and Non-Pharmacological Interventions
- Unresolved Issues: I want to do the Right Thing, BUT…
- Complementary Therapies: Their use in Stress Management
- Hidden Gifts of Alzheimer’s disease
- How to Begin to Talk About Things You Don’t Want to Talk About…
The keynote presentation will be given by Kathleen J. Rusnak, Ph.D. Rusnak is a thought-provoking humorist, author, and well-known dynamic speaker on the issues of faith, spirituality, and the relationship between loss and grief.
A resource fair will be ongoing throughout the day. At the fair, vendors and agencies that provide services to caregivers will be available to answer questions.
The cost of the event is $5. A continental breakfast and lunch are included with admission. Nursing CEUs will be available.
