MVES Announces Second Annual Fundraising Event
MVES is proud to announce its second annual fundraising event, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, to be held at the Stoneham Theatre on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Christie’s famous mystery promises to keep theatergoers guessing until the end. All proceeds raised through sponsorships and general ticket sales will benefit the MVES Gap Fund, a $1 million endowment, to be established over five years, that helps elders who fall just outside the guidelines for government-funded home care. The interest accrued from the endowment will help at-risk elders in Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, and Wakefield get the home- and community-based services they need to remain independent. “Last year, our first theater event was a big success and we surpassed our fundraising goal by raising over $35,000 for the Gap Fund,” said MVES Director of Development Jenny Vanasse. “We’ve increased our goal this year and we have confidence that we can achieve it with the community’s help.” MVES is already on its way to reaching its goal with the support of returning sponsors, including second-time lead sponsor, StonehamBank. For sponsors, the fun starts even before show time with a reception featuring “Mystic Martinis” and gourmet appetizers. Both returning and new sponsors are welcome to support this year’s event!
