Eating well means more than just sustenance.
From hot meals served at senior dining sites to personal nutrition counseling
by a registered dietitian, our Nutrition Services play an important
role in the health, well being, and independence of the older adults
we serve.
A nutritious meal delivered by a friendly
driver goes a long way in helping maintain independence. Meals on Wheels
provide a daily meal for individuals over 60 years old who are homebound
and unable to prepare their own food. Find out more about Meals
On Wheels.
Senior Dining offers older adults an opportunity to meet, share experiences,
explore new interests, and enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch. Anyone age
60 or older is welcome. A donation of $1.50 for each meal is suggested.
Anyone under 60 years of age may join us for a nominal fee.
Lunch is served at 12:00 Noon Monday through Friday at 12 Senior
Dining Locations in senior centers and elder complexes in our service
area. All reservations must be made by 11:30 one day in advance. If
you are interested in making a reservation, please call the phone number
listed for each Senior Dining Location.
Food shopping can often be an overwhelming
chore. Our grocery shopping and delivery service helps those whose ability
to lift or travel is limited. The service even includes shelving! Find

Care Services.

As an integral component of a person's
total wellness package, our registered dietitian can work with individuals
and their physicians to develop nutrition care plans. Medical Nutrition
Therapy is often helpful in managing illness and nutrition-related medical
conditions, such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. Medical
Nutrition Therapy involves the assessment of a person's diet and medical
conditions followed by appropriate recommendations that may range from
diet modification to nutrition case monitoring to the use of specialized
nutrition therapies such as intravenous or tube feedings.
