Menus

We are excited to be able to offer a new feature for our menus, which we hope will enable you to make healthy meal choices. The nutrient content of the hot meal for the senior dining meal sites is now available. The menu lists the hot meal offered for the day, with the total calories, percentage of fat, and milligrams of sodium.

In the future, we plan to add the nutrient analysis for our Meals on Wheels menu, and the cold choice meal that is offered at the senior dining meal sites, so keep checking back!

Our menus are planned by dietitians. Each meal provides an average of 700 to 800 calories and provides one-third of the current Recommended Daily Allowances for nutrients. The meals have no salt added.

For more information, please contact the Nutrition Department at 781-324-7705.

Menus are in PDF format. If you cannot open the file, please download the free Acrobat Reader at www.adobe.com and try to open the file again.

Therapeutic Menus

Please be advised that a doctor's authorization needs to be completed to receive these meals. Please contact your case manager if you are interested in receiving therapeutic meals.

These meal menus are on a four-week, rotating schedule and do not follow a monthly schedule. To determine the current "menu" week, look to the right of the menu to find each corresponding calendar week.

Example: If you receive Heart Healthy meals and wanted to know the menu for the week of May 17, 2010, you would see that this week is a "Week 3" menu. The "Week 3" menu would show the meals that will be offered.

Re-heating Instructions for Soup

Soup is offered regularly to those who receive meals from the regular and modified hot menus. It is delivered chilled. To re-heat the chilled soup, follow these instructions:

  • Peel back a corner of the film on the soup container.
  • Place the soup container in the microwave and heat for one minute.
  • Remove from the microwave, peel back the film and stir the contents.
  • Caution: The soup will be very hot!
You can also heat the soup by pouring the contents into a sauce pan and heating it on the stove.
