Our Community

Over 50,000 elders and adults living with disabilities reside in Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Revere, Stoneham, Wakefield and Winthrop, and we provide care management to over 4,000 community members each year. We serve almost 500,000 meals each year through Meals on Wheels.

We measure our success by how well we meet the individual needs and desires of our community members. We celebrate the Chinese-American members of our senior community with Chinese meals.

We celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender members of our senior community with monthly afternoon teatimes.

We strive to make our services accessible to speakers of as many languages as possible; currently our staff speaks 13 languages:

  • Belorusian/ Беларуская мова
  • Cantonese/广东语言
  • Dutch/Nederlandse taal
  • French/langue française
  • Fuzhou/福州話
  • German/ Deutsche Sprache
  • Haitian Creole/ Kreyòl Ayisyen
  • Mandarin/普通话语言
  • Polish/Język polski
  • Russian/Русский язык
  • Spanish/ Lengua española
  • Ukrainian/Українська мова
  • Vietnamese/Tiếng Việt.

We partner with adults of all ages living with disabilities to support them as they gather the services they need to live the lives they want; and our Community Care program ensures that integrated care participants have access to relevant and tailored support systems that help them live independently and within their communities.

Our community also encompasses the organizations, corporations, and foundations that consistently support our work.

Mystic Valley Elder Services is a proud member of Mass Home Care, a network of all 30 elder service agencies in the state, and of the Metro Boston Aging and Disability Resource Consortium (ADRC), a group of organizations committed to independent living and consumer direction for adults of all ages.
