Hundreds of people in our community have raised more than $5 million to create a lasting resource for older adults—the Gap Endowment Fund.
Interest earned from this fund—approximately $250,000 a year—is put to work every day supporting unfunded and underfunded programs and services for older adults and adults living with disabilities who live in Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Revere, Stoneham, Wakefield and Winthrop.
Each month, on average, nearly 70 older adults in need of personal care, laundry service, meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping receive this help—thanks to the Gap Fund, and thanks to supporters like you.
Additionally, unfunded and underfunded programs are supported through interest earned from the Gap Endowment Fund including: transportation services and mobility management; mental health counseling; money management and bill paying services; food pantry programs and meals on wheels; outreach and care options counseling and much more.
The number of older adults in need of support continues to grow. And so, the Gap Endowment Fund needs to grow as well to keep pace with community needs. Please help us double our endowment fund to more than $10 million and our ability to fund unmet needs.
